A Study of the Gospel of John

This is lesson one of the series entitled “The Gospel of John:  Who is this Jesus?”.  This session focuses on the prologue of John’s Gospel – John 1:1-18.

This session focuses on the role of John the Baptist in the life of Jesus in John 1:19-51.

This session examines John 2.  In this passage, we will observe Jesus’s first sign, His first trip to Jerusalem, and the first public response.  This important chapter sets the scene for much of the narrative.

This session examines John 3–one of the most familiar texts in all of the New Testament.  Key to our study is the love of God.

John 3:22-36 serves as the basis for this study.  Via the life of John the Baptist, we will examine the importance of service to Christ.

In this session we will examine the beautiful encounter between Jesus and the Samaritan woman in John 4.  Defying all social norms, Jesus reaches out to this woman on the margins of society.

This lesson focuses upon the second sign in John’s Gospel–the healing of the royal official’s son.  This passage provides invaluable lessons on the importance of true faith.

This lesson observes the healing of the paralytic at the Pool of Bethesda in John 5.  This is the first hostile encounter Jesus has with the Jewish religious leaders in John’s Gospel.

This lesson centers upon one of the great “I am” statements found in the Fourth Gospel.  “I am the Bread of Life” highlights the Lord’s provisions for His people.

This lesson continues our study of John 6 and the implications of Christ’s declaration that “I am the Bread of Life”.
