From ongoing riots to plummeting financial markets due to the Coronavirus, our world desperately needs hope. Noted Russian novelist, Fyodor Dostoevsky wrote, “To live without hope is to cease to live.” The Bible also stresses this essential response of the human heart. Scripture defines hope as a trusting anticipation, particularly with reference to the fulfillment of the promises of God.
Throughout the Bible, various individuals clung to hope as they faced a chaotic world. This study will examine a number of these men and women and how they persevered under some of the most difficult challenges of life.
Our third session in this series is entitled: “The Pain of Loss: Resting in Contentment”. We will examine Ruth in Ruth 1:1-22 with i2i’s Bible teacher, Dr. David Hoffeditz.. Video is coming soon.
Sessions Schedule
Session One (June 14): One Eye on Ur: Following God into the Unknown. This study will examine the life of Abraham in Hebrews 11:8-12.
Session Two (June 21): The Weapon of Forgiveness: Seeing God’s Hand. This study will examine the life of Joseph in Genesis 45:1-20 and 50:15-21.
Session Three: The Pain of Loss: Resting in Contentment. This study will examine the life of Ruth in Ruth 1:1-22.
Session Four: The Prison of Anxiety: Standing in the Face of Fear. This study will examine the life of Daniel in Daniel 6:11-28.
Session Five: One Giant Hurdle: Facing the Impossible. This study will examine the life of David in 1 Samuel 17:1-51.
Session Six: A Vacuum of Leadership: Standing in the Gap. This study will examine the life of Deborah in Judges 4:4-5:31.
Session Seven: The Albatross of Guilt: Moving Beyond Failure. This study will examine the life of Peter in John 21.
Session Eight: The Perils of the Present: Focusing on the Goal. This study will examine the life of Paul in 2 Corinthians 4:7-18.
